A Traditional Bermuda Race Welcome

Any 106-year-old event is bound to have its honored traditions.  The Bermuda Race has a few – the Lighthouse Trophies, the prize ceremony at Government House, and (as everybody who has come into Hamilton knows) a warm welcome after a wet crossing of the Gulf Stream.  As boats wend their way through the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club’s marina, they’re applauded by their competitors.  And after they tie up in their slips, they’re presented with a tray of Bermuda’s most famous drink, Dark ’n Stormies.
