Yellowbrick Tracking Policy and Links

Yellowbrick Tracking is providing satellite tracking for the 2012 Newport Bermuda Race using trackers (transponders) placed on board the racing boats.  To access the Yellowbrick public race player, click on the Tracking button on the home page or http://yb.tl/nb2012

The race player will have an automatic 6-hour time delay during the first 48 hours of the race.  In the early phases of the race, real-time position reporting can give significant tactical advantages to some boats, tilting the playing field. After 48 hours, the boats will have made a firm strategic commitment so the time delay will be ended.

For competitors using satellite links, the low bandwidth link is http://yb.tl/links/nb2012

The race can also be viewed using the Yellowbrick iPhone or Android apps at these links:
iPhone App:  http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/yellowbrick/id452193682?mt=8
Android app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yellowbrick.raceviewer&hl=en

If your friends on shore do not see your boat on the race player, they should notify the Bermuda Race Organizing Committee by sending two emails—one to Chairman@bermudarace.com and one to Webmaster@bermudarace.com. The BROC will then contact the boat to see if there are problems or if the tracker has failed, and then report to your friends.
