The Newport Bermuda Race online entry system opened Monday January 14. All yacht owners who are contemplating sailing in the race are encouraged to access this online entry system, which is the first official step in entering the 2008 Newport Bermuda Race.

The Newport Bermuda Race welcomes first-time participants as well as veterans.
The entry process is easy to follow and uses a secure registration system at www.bermudarace.com.
Captains begin the process by registering a login ID and password. Once logged on, they complete the Application For Entry (AFE) with basic information about the sailing history of the yacht and her crew. The Qualifications Committee reviews this information and either approves the AFE or notifies the captain that additional information is required.
Once an Application for Entry is approved by the Qualifications Committee, participants proceed through the entry process, providing additional details about themselves and the yacht. The entire entry process is conducted online, including payment of fees and monitoring the status of the entry.
The captain and crew each have separate passwords to access appropriate sections of the yacht's registration information.
Any difficulties with or questions about the online registration system should be addressed to webmaster@bermudarace.com or chairman@bermudarace.com.
The centennial race in 2006 saw a record 264 boats on the starting line. Interest is high for this new century of racing, and race organizers are gearing up for a fleet that rivals the 2006 event.
