The bright red Concordia 42 Cabady, sailed by Randall Baldwin of Ridgefield Connecticut, moved into first place in the Onion Patch series following a first place finish among series entries in last week's Newport Bermuda Race. She now counts 11.25 points after the first two events.

Cabady stood second, behind Clayton Deutsch’s Swan 68 Chippewa after the initial New York Yacht Club Annual Regatta sailed June 14-15 in Newport, Rhode Island but finished 16th among 34 series entries in the ocean race which has dropped her to 6th. This allowed Flying Jenny VI owned by David Askew and Ken Comerford from Annapolis MA to leapfrog from third to second with a 6th place in the Bermuda Race and 18.5 points. Charisma, the veteran S&S 57 owned by Alejandro Perez-Calzanda from Barcelona Spain, is now in third place with 23.5 points.
The Indian Harbor Yacht Club team made up of Cygnette, William Mayer’s Swan 441 from Greenwich Connecticut, Christopher Dragon owned by Andrew Weiss of Rye New York, and the 2006 series winner Crescendo, Martin Jacobson’s Swan 44 Mk11 from the British Virgin Islands, has moved up to first place with 92.25 points ahead of the US Sailing and New York YC teams.
The 3-boat US Sailing Team comprises George David's Reichel Pugh 90 Rambler from Hartford Connecticut, the J122 Flying Jenny VI and Hap Fauth’s new Reichel Pugh 69 Bella Mente from Jamestown Rhode Island and now trails Indian Harbor YC by 2 points.
The Onion Patch Series is scored under the IRC rule. The third and final stage of the series, the 2008 Royal Bermuda Yacht Club Anniversary Regatta starts at 10:00AM on Friday June 27th. It is a two-race event - a windward leeward course in Bermuda’s Great Sound followed by a “Tour of the Islands Race” that finishes in Hamilton Harbour. This is the largest offshore regatta in Bermuda with 40 yachts entered.
