I am a 24 years old and have loved sailing all of my life. I am pretty easy going and am also very responsible and task oriented. Doing a Newport to Bermuda race has always been kind of a dream of mine as I have always loved racing and particularly enjoy longer races. I started sailing when I was 7 years old by going out on my Dad’s boat. Soon after that in fifth grade I started Junior Sailing at Bayview Yacht Club in Detroit, MI. I did juniors all through grade, middle, and high school and also sailed for my high school team. In college I started Coaching over summers and gained my level 1 and 2 coaching certifications. I have done 3 Port Huron to Macinac Island races which are typically 2 or 3 days and 204nm. Two years ago I moved out to Boston and have been living and working here ever since. I own a car and am able to be very mobile and am also willing to help prepare the boat for the race and would especially like to come do a few races and practice runs on a boat before I took off for the race.
I really love sailing and am trying to get more involved in it out here on the East. If you are looking for a hard working member of your crew who has a good amount of knowledge about sailing and how to go about long distance racing, please contact me as I am very interested in going on this race.
