I learned to sail at 12 (1983) and have been in love with it ever since. I learned on an 8′ Naples Sabot in California. Since then I spent most of my childhood around boats and did several crossings to Catalina Island with my family. I got out of sailing for a while until 2007 when I purchased a 1975 O’Day 25. I participated in numerous races and did several overnights at anchor. After a few years I traded up to a 1984 Catalina 17 standard rig with inboard diesel. I still race with it as well as other friends during our wednesday night series throughout the summer.
Other sailing experience includes a 2 week sailing trip on a friend’s DelMar Conde DC1200 12 meter racer in Portugal, 1 24 hour charter on a Hunter 295 out of Tampa FL, and a 9 day Chater on board a Beneteau 343 in the BVIs.
