Bio

I am from Middlefield Ct. And I can’t remember my 1st sailing experience because I was around 3 years old. I have lived on the water my whole life and my sailing season usually runs from late March to early November. You can usually find me sailing 3 to 6 days a week during that time. I also have a lot of experience out on the sound and beyond, making trips to Block Island on my Yngling and doing high speed crossing if the Long Island Sound on my Hobie 16. My cruising experience is limited to only being out no more than a week at a time either on board my Buddy’s Baltic 32 or on my classic 1939 Hinckley Islander which I no longer own. My racing experiences are Hobie fleet 136 where my buddy and I pulled off 2nd place out of a 68 boat fleet, I also raced a few seasons in the Wednesday night races at Duck Island Yacht Club.. Racing on a Catalina 30 a Ranger 23 and a Bristol 43. I was the main trimmer on Stars and Stripes 1987 America’s cup winner in the Caribbean for the 12 Meter Challange against Canada True.. We pulled off a come behind victory in a tacking duel. Sailing the Newport to Bermuda is a life long dream of mine and I will give 100% from being at the Helm to calling shifts to being rail meat, I can pretty much fit into any position that is needed. My stomach is strong and I am in excellent health with a regular exercise regiment. I am 50 years young and am told that I look and act much younger. Please consider me thank you, sincerely , Glenn A. Jacques
