The Gulf Stream Show’s First Episode, Black Jack 100 Closes in On the Onion Patch

The fleet is well out of sight of land and has now been thrashing its way through the North Atlantic for over 24 hours. Leading the pack by a healthy margin is the largest boat, Black Jack 100. Though not entirely surprising, the 100 foot yacht has made impressive time so far.The boat is projected to cross the finish line and collect Line Honors bright and early Sunday morning. The Live Standings board on the Bermuda Race website has all the information on standings across divisions in the fleet.

Hot off the presses is the first episode of theGulf Stream Show Powered by Palm Beach Motor Yachts: The Race to the Gulf Stream! In this episode, onboard reporter Lauren Zike and the Palm Beach 70 leave Newport behind and head offshore in pursuit of the fleet.

The journey begins with a run past the Ørsted offshore wind farms before charging south toward one of offshore sailing's greatest challenges—the Gulf Stream.

Along the way, Lauren sits down with offshore sailing legend Dee Caffari to discuss Gulf Stream strategy, weather routing, and the decisions that can make or break a Bermuda Race. She also climbs aboard the mighty Black Jack 100, catches up with the crew of Space Monkey, and talks with Palm Beach 70 skipper Mark Richards about the mission to bring the race to life from the water.

As the fleet settles into the first miles of this 636-mile classic, the stories are already unfolding offshore.

Tune in tomorrow as the fleet reaches and crosses the Gulf Stream, where strategy, current, and weather begin to shape the race to Bermuda.

For more, a full update from the fleet on all the action since yesterday’s start is now posted to BermudRace.com, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. Catch up with teams as they give real time updates from the Gulf Stream and in the know with what’s happening in the race.

The Gulf Stream show will be posted daily through Wednesday, June 24. Stay tuned and don’t miss a minute of the action!
