  1. Please populate and update your crew lists in the entry system as soon as possible to ensure all crew receive important race communications.
  2. Entries in the St. David’s Lighthouse, Finisterre, and Double Handed divisions are subject to strict limits—and driving restrictions—on non–Category 1 sailors. Entry Managers should carefully review NOR 7. All sailors requiring a valid Category 1 designation should apply with World Sailing as soon as possible and ensure their SailorID is entered in their profile on the entry portal. Please see to the Competitor Notice #4 on the Notice Board for important updates and details regarding World Sailing categorization procedures.
  3. PICs are encouraged to regularly review entry tasks, particularly the Crew Checklist, to track any outstanding crew requirements. See a screenshot attached of where that is.
  4. Sailors needing current Safety at Sea certification should note that only a few courses remain on the schedule. Limited space is still available in the CCA’s April 26 course in Bristol, RI but also there are more around this season —view the US Sailing schedule of SaS Seminars.
  5. Join us on May 4 for a live webinar with Frank Bohlen and Chelsea Freas of Sea-Tactics: Gulf Stream, Weather & Navigation: A 2026 Update.” We strongly encourage participants to first watch last May’s session featuring Stan Honey, which covers foundational strategy and decision-making for Gulf Stream crossings. The upcoming webinar will focus on what’s changed and what to expect for 2026.
  6. In our most recent newsletter, we highlighted the POYOB (Practice On Your Own Boat) MOB recovery exercises. The Storm Trysail Club will host an organized MOB training day on May 30. If you are interested in a guided, hands-on training opportunity, we encourage you to participate. Boats completing this session may submit feedback to be eligible for the LRSE prize drawing.
  7. Finally, this week was Earth Day, we remind all competitors of our commitment to sustainable practices and protecting the waters we sail. Please take a moment to read our latest article: Sea and Land: Bermuda Race Sustainability Efforts Provide Connection.
