Dear Sailors:
As our organizing committee continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely, we are taking input from local health and government officials in the U.S. and Bermuda, and we stand ready to respond to their guidance. Our utmost concern is for the safety and well-being of competitors, family, friends and all those who support each end of the race.
Our June 19 start date is three months away, and at this point we have made no decision to postpone or cancel the race. We know that a timely decision is important to all involved, as we know everyone is making preparations for the race. To that end, we will make a decision no later than May 1. We recognize that with the trajectory of events, a decision may be made sooner.
We invite captains to be in touch with your questions and concerns through this communications form, which will help us gather your input and respond more quickly. Our commitment is to be transparent about our decision-making as we go forward. We will provide another update via Competitor Bulletin next week.
Fair Winds!
