PICs/Entry Managers for yachts in SDL, FIN, and DH divisions: please review NOR 7.

The Notice of Race places strict limits on sailors without Group 1 categorization in the St. Davids, Finisterre, and Double Handed divisions. All sailors on crew lists seeking Group 1 categorization must be shown in the Bermuda Race Entry System as having a valid Group 1 designation.

Sailors in the above divisions without a valid designation in the entry system are considered not to have Group 1 and are therefore subject to participation and driving restrictions. Please review NOR 7 carefully.

World Sailing online categorization system is not working

We have been informed that World Sailing is currently operating under a manual Sailor Categorization application and renewal process while improvements are made to the online categorization system.

All sailors who require a new or renewed categorization are encouraged to submit an application as soon as possible by downloading and completing this form and emailing it to [email protected].

Do not wait to renew soon-expiring categorizations

Sailors with expired categorizations, or categorizations that expire between now and June 27, should submit a renewal application now using the form above. The online renewal process is not working. Renewal and application forms submitted by email are currently being processed within a few days.

You must have a SailorID to complete the categorization application/renewal form

Sailors who need to look up their SailorID or current categorization can do so here. Sailors who need to apply for a SailorID for the first time should do so here.

SailorIDs must be entered into each sailor’s profile in the Entry System

All sailors seeking Group 1 categorization must enter their SailorID into their profile in the Bermuda Race Entry Portal by the crew list deadline of June 5. Categorization details (group and valid-through date) are imported into the Entry System from the World Sailing database.

Use the following steps to enter your SailorID in your Bermuda Race profile:

  1. Sign in to the Bermuda Race Entry Portal and open My Details under the My Account menu: racing.bermudarace.com/my-details
  2. Enter your SailorID in the WorldSailor ID field.
  3. Click the green check mark to the right, verify your personal details in the pop-up, and click “This is Me”. If you need to reinitiate validation with World Sailing, delete your SailorID and re-enter it.
  4. Confirm that the correct category and expiration date from the World Sailing database appear below the WorldSailor ID field.
  5. Scroll to the bottom and click Update to save your changes.

These steps are also detailed in the Entry Guide.
