Sea Bags, Official Race Sustainability Sponsor

May 29, 2022

By Media Team

Periodically, we publish articles from our race sponsors of interest or value to many race fans and competitors. This comes from Sea Bags, our official sustainability sponsor.

Sea bags makes stylish bags for sailors from retired sails.

Sea Bags is proud to have been named the official sustainability sponsor for the 2022 Newport Bermuda Race and to support the Race’s Green Team. As a company built on the idea to give retired sails a new life, sustainability is at the core of everything we do.

Instead of tossing your old sails, give them a second life. Sea Bags will be at Race HQ at Sail Newport, June 13-16, to collected retired sails to be repurposed.

With the help of our network of sailors, we’ve been able to save over 700 tons of sails from the landfill—and counting! You can help contribute to our recycling efforts during our sail drive in Newport, RI, leading up to the race. Come and drop off old sails, and check out our limited-edition commemorative collection of Newport Bermuda Race products including a totewristlet, and a beverage bucket.
