Comprising a trophy and a half-model of the Cruiser Division's winner, the Carleton Mitchell Finisterre Trophy honors a three-time winner of the race (1956-60) and his 38-foot yawl in which he cruised many thousands of miles between races. (Scott King)

After correction of a scoring error in the previously announced results, Simpatico, Captain William F. Riley (Chatham, MA), has been awarded the Carleton Mitchell Finisterre Trophy as the yacht with the best corrected time in the Cruiser Division, and also the First Place award for Class 10.  Peter W. Furze, Simpatico’s navigator, has been awarded the Navigator’s Prize for the Cruiser Division. Simpatico is a Pearson 39 sloop.

Attitude, Captain Shawn Dahlen (Duxbury, MA), the previously announced Cruiser Division and Class 10 winner, now stands in second place in the division and class. All other results remain as previously announced on the race website, www.BermudaRace.com, at the Prize List button

The next Newport Bermuda Race, the 50th since the race was founded in 1906, will start at Newport on Friday, June 17, 2016.
