Newport Race Headquarters
The Bowen’s Wharf Company and the Seamen’s Church Institute, adjacent to each other, will anchor the race headquarters, providing easier access to competitors and a public profile for the race. Participant registration, Bermuda Customs pre-clearance, yacht tracker distribution, media communications, and exhibits will be included.

Shipping Container to Bermuda Loads at Newport Yachting Center
A commercial shipping company has been contracted to assist captains and crews wishing to send gear, sails, etc. to Bermuda. Loading of 4 – 20′ containers will take place at Newport Yachting Center on June 17 from 0900-1700, and June 18 from 0800-1600. (Gear is expected to be available at RBYC on June 21.)
Return shipping will also be available, loading on June 25 & 26 from 1000-1700 near RBYC in Bermuda with expected arrival in Portsmouth, RI (New England Boatworks) on July 1.
Space is available on the containers on a first come, first served basis as evidenced by the completion and submission of the required Bermuda Customs form. Captains must request space in the containers before May 31st using the required Bermuda Customs form. The Bermuda Customs Form can be found here, and instructions to fill out the form here. The form should be printed, completed and emailed to European Ocean Freight as soon as possible, but in no event later than May 31st.
US Customs & Border Protection
Learn more about the requirements for entering the United States with your vessel from any foreign country for the Start and for all vessels (US and foreign) upon return from Bermuda after the race.
Please see the applicable Customs and Border Protection website for specific and legal requirements, including the new Reporting Offsite Arrival – Mobile (ROAM) app for Apple and Android. ROAM replaced the Small Vessel Reporting System (SVRS), which ceased operation in 2018.
The start of the Newport Bermuda Race is a spectacular sight from shore and also the water, with more than 150 boats maneuvering and starting off Castle Hill in multiple classes. The first gun is expected at 1:00 p.m., and the last start, by 3:30pm. Watch from the shore, the water, or online..
